In addition to the basic recipes to upgrade your lower quality gems there are a few more recipes that use gems too that this page is going to mention. To give you an example of what I am talking about, 3 Chipped Topaz make 1 Flawed Topaz. If you want to upgrade the gem you have then you'll need 3 lower quality gems of the same type which you then place into the Horadric Cube and combine. Transmuting gems in the Horadric Cube works the same way (for the most part) as transmuting runes.
